After chastising myself for the past year and a half for falling off the raw food wagon, I have finally come to the conclusion that changing ingrained habits is a growth process. Granted there are the rare few who go 100% raw and never look back, but for the majority of us, aspiring to a particular standard sends us tumbling "ass over elbow" over our unanticipated personal obstacles. So, after running toward the goal of 100% raw, with my eye on the prize, I now see that taking the scenic route works best for me.
Exploring my surroundings, taking life one moment at a time and making choices just for now has brought me to an awareness of what part stress plays in my decision making process. As you can see if you have read my prior posts (and please do if you haven't) this has been and continues to be an eclectic journey toward optimal health, both emotionally and physically. I see in retrospect the effect that the guilt I felt following any cooked meal, had upon my success. It was counterproductive in what I discovered was more a quest for health than an aspiration to follow a particular food regimen.
